Lindsay
Lindsay is a neuroscientist and currently works as a researcher studying the immune system and Alzheimer's disease.
Lindsay's path to become an Alzheimer's researcher began at the age of 18 years old when her father was diagnosed with the disease, from that point on she's dedicated her time and career to studying Alzheimer's disease.
Through her work as a scientist, she noticed time and again how important and critical people with FAD mutations facilitated incredible breakthroughs for the field of Alzheimer's. Yet, there was no organization dedicated to supporting them.
In 2020, she founded Youngtimers to address this, creating an organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by FAD through education, support, community, and research.
In addition to her work with Youngtimers, Lindsay also collaborates with research institutes like DIAN to identify and address barriers that face this community's ability to participate in research.
